Attack of the wrapping paper!!!

The one who makes me smile a lot got attacked by wrapping paper while wrapping the last few presents. Literally. His mom threw it at him through the door not knowing he was laying there :).

Merry Christmas!

We made it all the way up to Ångermanland :). Have had Swedish Christmas dinner,  presents, family, more dinner and so on and repeat. Been lots of fun so far! The one thing we don't have is snow :(. No snow man this time :(.

Advent boxes

I made an Advent calendar for the one who makes me smile a lot :). I got him a fun Lego set but then I divided it randomly into the 24 boxes. I am evil :). But he also got cute notes in each one too :). So far he only has like 2.5 wheels and it's driving him crazy! Hee hee :).

Two presents for the present game at my birthday party! One is mine and one is for the one who makes me smile a lot :). I wonder what could be inside? 

Funny ad

This was a funny ad in the paper. It is looking for men to work at the castle in Malmö. They should be interested in history. And in the parentheses it says "preferably bearded". I just found that part funny :).

Who are you?

Sekhmet has become cuddly. Actually cuddly. Who the hell messed with my cat?!? I actually know. The one who makes me smile a lot. It is all him. The first time he was here was the first time she ever jumped up on the sofa next to an actual people!!! And she lets him pet her like all the time!!! She was never like that with me! Bitch. But now she cuddles with me too. I have proof!

The Great DVD Unfucking

The one who makes me smile a lot alphabetized all my DVDs!!! I helped a little of course, but holy cow is he an alphabetizeing ninja! Hundreds of them in less than an hour!  Now I can find any movie I want so much easier :).

A job well done

We had a few friends over today to make dumplings. Ever since we got back from China we have been wanting to try it. The evening was a success :). And to prove it we have the mountain of dishes!!! The one who makes me smile a lot is so efficient. After everyone left, we cleaned up everything in an hour (!). Before I met him it would have taken me about 8 days......

Attack of the 50 foot lamp!!!

Ok, it's not 50 feet, but it definitely attacked. Two people! First me. I was trying to hang it up when it slipped and proceeded to fall on my face, chest, then the desk and finally the floor. Good times were had by all.
Since I like my face, I decided to wait for the one who makes me smile a lot to help me put it up. So he got here and we went to put the lamp up. Of course the plug doesn't fit (which was the problem I was having when it attacked me). We switch plugs. And the second plug didn't fit either....yeah we were feeling pretty smart at this point.  After much electrical wire fiddling the stupid fucking lamp was ready to go up. He finally gets the lamp up, and goes to screw in the last screw for the cup thing at the top, and the lamp atracked! Scratched his arm!
I am telling you this lamp is possessed by demons. If I weren't so proud of completely redoing it myself, I would throw it away. But now it is up and hopefully it won't attack anyone else.

Two finished projects

Before and after pictures of two of my finished projects. Wish I had a whole one of the lamp but I forgot....
The lamp base was brown wood before. All white now. And you saw the shade in the previous post.
The dresser went from brown to apple green. One of my free finds, from a friend's mom who was emptying her house. Perfect size for right next to the desk/working table.

Mr. Potato Head

Finally my collection can see the light of day. Or at least some of it. I was on the fence about what to do with the one small shelf. I wanted to have some of my fun stuff on it. Then I remembered my potato head collection! Perfect! I can even change them out now and then as my collection grows :). Cause it will grow. I am adding the potato heads I am missing to my wish list. And I am missing lots!!! Hint: birthday coming up :). Shameless bid for presents :).

I made it myself!

I finally finished my first lamp shade :). It was brown and ugly before. Now it is pink and so very pretty! I couldn't quite get it to look like a real one (mostly around middle, a bit bunched), but it was my first try, so I am happy anyway. I painted the bottom part of the lamp too, pictures to come!

Biggest taco pie ever!

Over the weekend before fall break we made the biggest taco pie ever! It was the pan from the oven. Which is weird for me to start with, cause in US we use casserole dishes. But anyway, it was sooooo good :). And I helped and it didn't burn or anything!

Problems are made to be solved!

Everyone always doubts me when it comes to getting stuff into cars. Always they say "that will never fit!". Well I say "Suck it all of you!". It always fits. I have never gotten stuck at IKEA or out on a Blocket mission and had to call a friend with a bigger car. Never. Sometimes the only thing standing between you and victory is a cardboard box (I learned that tidbit of wisdom workin' as a stocker at The Wal-mart you know).
So behold the defeated armchair. Mwahahaha!!! And footstool. And shelf. Oh yes, you didn't think it was just the chair did you? Please.

Puzzle or hell on earth?

Just kidding. Almost. The one who makes me smile a lot was way more addicted than me though. He had to wander into the kitchen all the time to "just do one or two pieces, really, I swears!". After a few hours, he comes wandering back, hair torn out, declaring that surely I was hiding pieces somewhere!?! But it was finally defeated, mwahahaha!!!

Pasta sauce duel to the death!

To go with our homemade pasta we made one pasta sauce each. The one who makes me smile a lot is going to have leftovers forever and ever :). But it was so much fun!

Dumplings

We got the chance to join a dumpling making party this weekend :). A friend from China showed us how it is done. Admittedly, ours were not as pretty, but we were mostly just happy they didn't explode when being boiled :). And oh man were they yummy! We decided we would do it again cause it was fun :).

Project time!

Again. Many projects. But this one should be quick. Am painting this dresser for my pretty office slash library slash craft room slash whatever. It is going to be lime green. I hope it turns out ok. I really like 50's stuff, the shapes and so, but I hate hate hate the whole dark wood thing. I got the dresser totally free too from a friend's mom who was getting rid of a bunch of stuff. We like free stuff :). Wish me luck on the painting! 

Ready, set, go!

Sometimes I have the coolest job. We had a "friluftsdag" at school. The kids should be doing something outside,  pretty much. So we had five or six stations with different tasks for them to do and questions to answer. It was spread out over our area of town so they had to walk a fair bit as well. They got points for each one depending on how they did. The station I had with my colleague was a race with a remote control car :). And we got to build the race track however we wanted :). It was so much fun!

Creepy

Waking up from a nap to this was a little creepy. Ghost kitty in the window. Bastet was confused.

Share the chair

I moved the chair from the hoarding room to the living room. At first it was Sekhmet's chair. Then Bastet wanted to give it a go. This was the solution apparently :). Are they not super cute?

Pretty, pretty books :)

My precious books :). Are they not pretty? They are so happy to be out of those icky boxes. I have been in several times today just staring. All this made possible by the one who makes me smile a lot :). Holy cow can he focus and organize!

Death to Hoarding Room!

The Hoarding Room is on its way to being defeated. With tons and tons of help from the one who makes me smile a lot, books were unpacked and placed on shelves today. Ass loads of books. Masses of books. The whole area under and around the desk was filled with boxes of books. Now they are free! I have missed them. My first place was too small for many shelves and then I rented out a room for three years. So these books have been in boxes for years! It feels great to finally get them unpacked and organized on actual bookshelves. Picture of that in next one :).

Double decker train

On the way home from Gävle we were on a train that had two levels. Kinda cool. I think I have been on one in Denmark before but I am not sure.

Super fancy breakfast

We went to a friend's birthday in Gävle a couple weeks ago. It was very fun :). We stayed in a really nice hotel and this was the restaurant. So so so pretty! I love it when there are carvings on the ceiling and molding.

New project

Of course I must start a new project now that the ninja star is finally done. I will be recovering a lamp shade and painting the base of the lamp. Almost like the other one, except this time it will be just me. No help from mommy :(. We see how it goes. But the first step is always fun. Rip it all off!!! Destroy!!!

Progress!!!

I have been slowly but surely getting my shit together and getting organized. I have been throwing stuff away and finding homes for things. And organizing the homes that the things are going to. Not just throwing stuff in the closet or under the bed. No cheating :). See the empty baskets? See? They were full of crap that now has a proper place to live. Feels nice :).

Finished ninja star!!!

It took months but it is finally done!!! And up!!! I am so proud. And I have a dining room table again. Whatever shall I do with it?

My little friends :)

Up here in the north north north part of Sweden I have made two little friends. A snail and a frog/toad. I named the frog/toad Theodore. I did not name the snail but I did set him free in a safer part of the forest. He was in danger of getting squished when we went to get boards from Magnus Dad. Now he is safe :). And Theodore hopped away into the forest on his own :).

Hoarding room

Before I came up north, I tackled my hoarding room. I took a before picture which you see here. I forgot to take an after picture before I left so I will take one as soon as I get home. That way I have proof that I actually did something! It felt nice to tackle it and it was a big step. My apartment is finally getting organized and finished :).

A truce you say?

Well, it sems hell has frozen over. Bastet and Siri are not only on the bed, but in the same quadrant. The time space continuum is not safe.

Mine!

The kitties got a new scratch post from a certain someone a few weeks ago and they fucking love it! I figured they needed a new one but damn! They scratch on it all the time!
