Three kitties in bed to cuddle with. Lacking a biyfriend this is an
excellant substitute. Life is good :)

This is kind of how it looked when I came home. A little slighlty
fluffy blob among the other eggs :).

Baby Birdie :)

My zebra finches have laid six eggs. The last one about 14 days ago
and today when I got home there was a baby!!!! I was so excited cause
everyone said they probably wouldn't hatch but one did!!! And now I
am not checking up so much cause the Internet said to let the parents
take care of the babies and to not stress them out too much by looking
all the time. But I want to!!!

Since I can't get a good picture of my baby birdie here is one I
found. They are tiny!!! But mine had this kind of fluff on him too
from what I could tell. Awwww :).

I let you know tomorrow if there are any more babies :) :) :).

Sometimes life sucks

I am the cleaning lady at my school. This is the sink in the workshop
that I clean. This is the sink covered in dried encrusted soap that
sticks like fucking concrete. It was a fun day. Nough said.

Sekhmet's new favorite place

The back of the couch is Sekhmet's new happy sleeping place. She never
liked the backs of couches before. But now she like :). Her back legs
look so uncomfy though! Cats are like two year olds I guess. They can
sleep anywhere and in any position.

My New Project: After

Well I finished my project today. It is all re-upholstered, painted,
trimmed, mosaiced and everything. I am quite happy with the results.
The green colors match better than in the picture. The mosaic ended up
being a bit weird but I am kinda happy it wasn't super perfect. Looks
more interesting. That was also why I let the brush strokes show as
well underneath the clear mosaic tiles.

So everyone can come and see it now :). And if you want to see the
before and during pictures they are here in the blog!

Hungry Roomie? :). Bastet was trying to cuddle. I think she got

My New Project: During

Finished table top. Tomorrow I pick up the buttons and I plan to
hopefully finish the whole project this weekend. Yippee!!!

Here I am putting the mosaic cement on the finished table top. Never
done it before myself so I was pretty happy when it turned out as well
as it did :).

Now I am getting to the hard part! The seat with the buttons! We
shall see how it goes!

Here you can see a bit where I pulled the fabric through to fasten it
to the frame. Tucking it into the crease would not work in the long
run. Am trying to do this properly :). And then the last step here
will be cover all this mess with a matching piece of fabric of
course :).

So in the first picture you can see how I have re-upholstered the
seat. First I fastened the fabric to the front and side then I had to
draw it back through and fasten there as well.

Here I have ripped off the back to get to the front. Here is where I
draw through all the fabric and staple it to the frame. And later the
challenge will be the buttons. You can see where they come through here.

So now I have painted the table top green and I've started adding the
clear mosaic. When all are in place I will finish it off with white
mosaic cement.

Dexter would be proud

Today in Malmö Kristen and I went into the new kitchen store that is
next to the American store. We found this huge huge huge Chinese
chopping knife. I of course thought of Dexter right away, being
slightly addicted to the show at the moment.

No escape

Even in Sweden there is Spam. Granted it was at the American store.
But still. You don't expect Spam in Sweden. Although they did get Lite
Spam. Health nut Swedes :).

I did it!!!!

I gave myself my shot!!!! I wasn't sure if I could and Roomie was
nice enough to volunteer in case I punked out :). But I didn't and
here it is! One down. Nine more to go!

Finally organized!

Well my impending surgery forced me to do a major cleaning and
organizing today. I finally got up all my baskets for the recycling. I
finally organized the cleaning supplies. I finally have the entire
apartment clean and pretty!!!! I am so happy about that :). Plus I
needed to not focus on my surgery tomorrow....obsessive cleaning helps
that.

My new project: During

So now all the brown bits are white. I have painted the table top
green and over that I will have clear mosaic tiles. The new fabric is
the same green with small white dots. Am thinking about using a few
cool buttons instead of the fabric covered ones that are there now, on
the back rest. Maybe clear ones to pick up on the clear mosaic part.
We shall see! Can't wait to get rid of that god awful baby poo fabric!!!

Birdie eggs!!!

There are six birdie eggs now. Heehee :) :) :). I really hope they
hatch into little birdies. I was taking a picture of the eggs and the
nest as well as changing the water in their bath. And one of them
escaped!!! I was so scared cause Bastet almost caught him!!! But
Jake helped me trap the birdie under something and get him back. Thank
goodness for Jake the bird whisperer!!! Birdies all save now :). They
are sitting on the eggs now all safe and sound as well :).

...and none to drink. We were at Jens' parents to celebrate his
birthday. There was cake. I couldn't have any cause of my operation :
(. It was really hard!!!

I found this great bench at a garage sale. It's a telephone bench. And
I liked the form but the colors were awful (if you don't agree, you
can bite me!). So I plan to paint the wood work white and re-upholster
in a lime green color. I might also do some colorful mosaic on the
table part. I put up progress reports :)

Dammit!!!

Even the fucking GB ice cream plastic clown isn't alone anymore!!!
What the fuck?!?

I know. Overreacting to a clown. But still. Really?!? He's even fat
like me and he found love!!! Life is so fucking unfair. And maybe I'm
just bitter and hungry cause of my whole starve before operation
doctor's orders crap and I really just want the ice cream he's
supposed to be selling.

Definitley pissy anyway. Sorry.

Not a fan

Bastet insisted on sniffing my protein drinks that I have to "eat"
instead of food before my operation. She was not impressed. Just as
her mommy was not and is still not impressed. It's kind of creepy how
much I miss chewing. I'd kill to eat something that crunches right
now. Cheeto anyone? No? But alas I must be a good girl because as of
this morning I had only ,7 kilos left to lose before next Wednesday. I
think I can manage. Getting violently ill in the tummy for a few days
helped. I do not consider it cheating. Just the gods doing me a
favor. Of sorts. One could look at it several ways. But I try to be
positive. Everyone sing along now: Always look on the bright side of
life!

Hammock time

Does anyone else say "Hammock time" to the tune of the 90's classic
"Hammer time". Or is it just me? Anyway. Taking a break from being
miserable on the couch or the bed I decided to be miserable in the
hammock. Jens was pretty sick too but he made it for the first hammock
nap of the season. And Bastet too of course. Trying to see everything
in the world. Or at least what is visible from the balcony.
