Attack of the mini quiche!

Attack of the mini quiche! Could be a fifties B movie....anyway. Was at fellow Tolkien group groupie's house today to make tons of mini quiches for next week's Bokskogen. Was fun, got very adept at evening out dough. An underestimated skill!

Pepper ketchup

Ketchup with pepper in it. I thought it was cool cause a couple friends always mix ketchup and pepper at Burger King to eat fries with. Now it comes already mixed :).

Crazy knobs :)

I love my apartment, I do, but there are some details I can live without, and one such detail was the knobs on the hall closet doors. They were awful. Wood, weird seventies something. And not the good seventies either! So when mom came to visit she brought me new ones from my favoritest store ever, Hobby Lobby :). Now my closet doors have character, in true wacky Melinda style :).

Jewelry sorted

As part of my very very long list of stuff to do on my vacation, I finally got my jewelry organized :). I've had the stuff since last summer I think but never had the time. Now everything has a home, not just lying in a heap in a box!

Comfy Siri Piri :)

Siri decided to relax after a couple weeks and now she has really let go :). She sleeps on the bed now with the other kitties and she let's me get all cuddly :).

So many kitties

All my babies and me taking a nap. Yes, Siri Piri counts as one of my babies :).

Glass!

Finally! It took forever and ever to get here, but finally we can see what we made :). Mom and I made stuff at Orrefors. I made an orange bowl and Mom made a paper weight. It was so cool, way cooler than the last times we each made stuff. This time we got to sit at the bench and use tools and shape the glass. Before we only got to blow a bit of air and they did the rest. It was really fun, but so hot! When I made my bowl I had to back off a few times cause of the heat. But still so fun :). Now I just have to mail Mom's paper weight to her!

Awesome lamp

Thanks to mom, sevral of my basement projects have come to light, been worked on, and in some cases, finished. Like this very awesome lamp :). I found it a long time ago and thought, love the shape, hate the color. It was dark brown, with a tan shade that had dark brown fringe *shudder*. I so regret not remembering to take a before photo. But now it is all white and purple and pretty :). Thanks for the help mommy!

Table project

I found a table and chairs that were really pretty and, most importantly, really cheap. Now they will be painted and re-covered. Mom helped a whole bunch while she was here and the table is almost done. I will have to take a bit more time on the chairs, but I hope I finish this summer. Wish me luck!

Hanging out

Siri and Sekhmet hanging out on the balcony. Jimmie was so worried about Siri jumping off, but so far it has been no problem having her out there.

Museum colony

After the Citadel, we went to a very famous colony area nearby. It had many very nice allotments and one was actually a museum. It was built in 1903 and is one of the oldest known colony allotments in Sweden. And not just the house, the garden still has certain plant species that don't exist anymore. It was very cool to see!

Coolest cafe ever

Near the Citadel was a cafe called Why Not Cafe and the interior was awesome! It was a bit flamboyant and really played with old fashioned shapes and styles but in new colors. Which is what I love and do myself as much as I can :).

Commuter sheep

We saw bunches of sheep by the Citadel and Gittan said they are sheep from the island Ven. They are brought over to graze during the summer, then they go back.

Feild trip!

Mom and I spent the day with Gittan and Leif on Sunday. They took us to a fun cafe in Landskrona by the Citadel. I have never been there before and it was really pretty. I think I will be back!
