Electric car!

I got to try out a really cool electric car. Jens has them at work and he brought it to lunch one day. Tamas and I took it out for a test drive, and we did not, absolutely not, break any rules or speed limits. We swears. Really. Honest.
:)

Mirror, mirror

Sekhmet was a bit confused when she jumped up and the couch...and she was already there!!! How does that work? It was fun to watch :).

Doritos!

In Sweden! More American food on the way :). And these were at the regular store, not the American Store, btw.

Just like mom makes it :)

I made my mom's mac and cheese hambuger corn etc food today. Was feeling homesick, so it was yummy and theraputic :).

Table!

Hall table done! Had to make a change. The tile was like three week order time and expensive! So I went with crackle paint that my mom told me about. I think it turned out ok :).

Weird cat

I caught Sekhmet napping in this position today. Scared the crap out of me, I thought she had died or something! Luckily she just decided to take a nap on her back with all 4 legs in the air. Weirdo :).

T-shirt?

This would be a cool t-shirt too :). My collection would grow!

Speaking of fairy tales...

This is so true :). We are doing fairy tales in school, but I don't think this is a good one for the kiddos.

T-shirt?

I really want this as a t-shirt!!!

Thinking twice is good advice

Especially in this case. My brother took this one of soup that is cock flavored. And yes, a cock is a chicken, but no one these days thinks chicken first. Especially me, but I read way too much gay .romance :). So I like it, but I think more people would buy your product if it was called chicken soup instead. Or maybe people will buy it more cause it is a bit funny this way. Who knows :).

Best fairy tale book ever!

I just got the new edition of Grimm's fairy tales and I love it! They have a different set of illustrations for each story, taken from books published from 1820-1950. So awesome! This is a picture from my favorite so far, it is the castle from sleeping beauty. I love the colors! And the other picture is from Red Riding Hood, where it is all black and white, apart from her hood. I recommend this book as a "must have" :).

Project!

It is a table for the hall. Will fit perfectly once it is done :). I am painting the whole thing white and then doing a mosaic thing on the top, probably with turquoise tile that I have smashed into odd shaped pieces. Kitchen done, hall is next! So exciting :).

Awww, baby bales :)

I saw these cute tiny little baby bales at ICA and had to take a picture. So different from the much much bigger bales we had at Wal-mart. I think it would take 5 or 6 of these baby bales to make one Wal-mart bale.

Sunday, Geeky Sunday

Today I played Descent with Jens, his girlfriend, another Tolkien guy, and his girlfriend. Whew. Anyway, we were five people, and we never played it before, but it was very fun :). I think we will play again. It took quite a few hours since we had not played before, but that just means next time will be easier :). And holy cow were there rules to keep track of. But it got easier the longer we played. It is Jens who has the game and it was even more fun cause he bought the extra game pieces like the stones, doors etc that made it look very cool too. Oh, the four of us lost and Jens won.....but I say it was all luck....yep...that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, sometimes being a geek is fun :).

Kitchen finally done, continued :)

You didn't think I would be happy only posting five pictures did you? Pft. Here is the rest of my master piece, enjoy!

Kitchen finally done :)

Well after more than two years I can finally say I am done with my kitchen. Everything is just the way I want it, inside and out. This is the one room I allowed myself to go nuts in. Stuff everywhere, and in every color under the sun. Makes me happy just going in there! Plus I really am done now, cause I don't think I can get any more stuff in there.....

Perfect sign to go with the Zombie Bullets :)

Hee hee hee, I like it :).  My mom needs one of these in the yard considering the Zombie Bullets and sheer number of guns in the house!

Seriously, amen!

It just says it all....

Shelves too!

Since I made the drill my bitch, we went ahead and put up my shelves too :). The kitchen just absolutely needed a bit more space for a bit more stuff. Big grin :). Ok, maybe not, but I decided two narrow shelves displaying my unique, tasteful, and elegant collection of objects des arts was way better than a picture or a mirror. This way I don't have to have ANY of the cool stuff hidden in the cabinets :).
Since the drill continues to be my bitch, we are going to attempt to put three plant hooks in the living room window tomorrow. Wish us luck :).

Knives!

I finally got my birthday knives up and in thier home! Aren't they pretty? The drill and I had a bit of a disagreement, but in the end, the drill admitted defeat. Mwahahaha! I love my happy knives :). If I ever wind up pulling a Dexter, I am at least fully and stylishly equipped :).

Certified Zombie Ammunition

Well, if the Zombie Apocalypse ever comes, my family is prepared :).  My brother's girlfriend took these pictures of my mom's boyfriend's bullets.  Apparently my aunt didn't believe my mom that there were such a thing as zombie bullets.  Zombie bullets.  Hee hee :).  The box is so funny!  Gives you tips on how to best kill the zombies and everything!  And the middle of the bullets are green, so perfect!  Man, if I didn't live in Sweden I would so get me a box of these.  I am begging Mom to steal the box from Craig as it is just so I can have it....come on Mom you know you want to!  You can't bring the bullets to Sweden and I could never shoot them anyway, but the empty box could be mine!  I guess for reals these are bullets that pack quite a punch so they ain't cheap....no Zombie bullets for me :(.

City of Love!

Not sure really what "löve" means in Swedish, but I wasn't the only one that thought "love" right away when seeing the name of the place :).

Happy house :)

Someone went nuts with the paint!  This was a random happy house we went past.  I couldn't resist a picture cause this is so something I would do to my own house!

Magic vintage sweater and new hair

Well, the magic sweater couldn't cure a migraine, but it still makes me happy :).  I just love it, and the price more, cause it was only 50 crowns.  And the leaves are on the back too.  And I got a hair cut and dyed it almost black.  Surprise!  I am really getting into this whole hair experimenting thing.  I even got purple hair dye for highlights again, but I think I need help with that one.....

Cool church

You can't throw a dead cat in Skåne without hitting a church, which I love!  Since I studied churches and especially Scandinavian churches and art, I still think it is great to find these little churches everywhere.  This one was especially fun cause it has a buttress.  This is not so common with this style of church.

We discovered a fort!

Ok ok ok, we didn't discover it like that, but we discovered it in that we never knew it was there.  Which is impressive for two history dorks.  Especially when it is within spitting distance of Kungagraven in Kivik, which we did know about.  It was way cool to stumble across!  Apparently it is the only fort of it's kind in Sweden.  They were really common in England and France, but not here.  It dates to the medieval period here, maybe around 1200 or so.  Very very cool :).  I won't bore you with the rest, I swears!

Lunch time!

It is always so fun to see the tractors plowing and the sea birds flocking after to get at all the yummy icky insects and worms and other goodies that turn up :).

Best artist place ever!

Jens and I went to this year's Konstrunda in Österlen instead of Helsingborg.  It was quite fun and the first place we went to was just awesome!  It had tons of rooms and the art was displayed really well.  It was an old barn and farmhouse.  And they had peacocks!  It was so cool!  They had an area all to themselves and were just chillin' like villains while people walked around.  The vintage Citroen in the yard helped the cool factor as well of course :).

Another furniture project

I forgot to take a good "before" photo, but the bench itself was brown before. Pine, the ever present enemy in Swedish decor. As you can see, I painted it white. Took many coats, but so much better now! And the seat for the bench was a horror in Southwestern looking fabric. Blek. Now it is a happy yellow color :). This one will be going in the kitchen as soon as I can manage. It's bright new self will fit in perfectly!
