Greasy spoon

Mom took me for breakfast today at Shortcake's. Stillwater's very own greasy spoon. Very tasty :).

Sparkly or rainbow?

Oh the choices! I saw these shoes at the mall, and I want them all! Pink sparkles and rainbows? It doesn't get much better than that!

Can't say they didn't warn you...

This is the sign at the mall in Tulsa. I guess they are just covering their bases and accounting once again for all the people  in this world who don't take any precautions. I wonder what it is like to have that blind faith in the good of the human race? I myself have lost that blind faith. Mostly due to the fact that signs such as this one are necessary.

Funny "potahto"

I tried writing it the British way of saying potato. It was cool, a girl at work had one for lunch. You just throw it in the microwave like that and a few minutes later, you have a baked potato. Magic! And I had to say it the British way, cause its just ironical when its such a white trash, lower class solution to a baked "potahto" :).

Leaning Tower of Hangers

We are getting lots of house hold stuff for the university students that will be coming in August. One day we got a butt load and a half of hangers. So the Leaning Tower of Hangers was built. And it really did lean. Slightly to the left. Lots of hangers.

Buried alive!

Much over stock today in apparel, socks and undies as far as the eye could see! And right after this picture it got really bad, the pile kept growing and growing and growing and growing...

So many labels!

All our over stock has to be labeled before it goes to the back to be binned. Here is how many labels it took to get the pile of socks and undies labelled. Stretched out, and worn as a scarf, it was quite impressive!

Little too careful...

Whenever something is heavy at work it is labelled "Team lift", meaning of course that you should not lift it by yourself. On some things this is good to have, some things are heavy and you can hurt yourself. But in order to avoid being sued, and/or catering to the truly stupid, some boxes are labeled "Team lift" that quite frankly don't need to be. This was a box of four, two-pound, hand weights. The smallest ones, four of them. Yeah. I thought having a "Team lift" was a bit excessive. The damn box wasn't even big enough for two people to get hold of it! About the same size as a hard back book. I thought it was funny :).

Swedish liqourice

I was buying Tootsie pops the other day and saw this black salt liqourice in the candy aisle. I didn't even know we had it here. Strange :).

My first bale...this time

We recycle everything at work. And if there is one thing we have a lot of, it is card board. I don't mind making bales actually. Some people avoid it like the plague, but I think it is kind of fun to make one.

Funny airport security stuff :)

Ok, I haven't had to go through one of these machines yet, the ones in Denver were down when I went through there. So I haven't had the lovely experience, but my roommate sent me this and I thought it was funny enough to share here, if you can read it! I hope so!
Tip: Click on the picture and you will get a bigger one :)

Cinnamon toothpaste!

I remembered this from a long time ago. I think they stopped making it for awhile, or I just missed it. Anyway, I found it again! So yummy :).

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After waiting something like seven fucking years, the fifth book in the Song of Ice and Fire series came out today. I got there right when they opened after work and walking to pick up my reserved copy. Now we see if it was worth the wait!

More Boomer Lake

Here are a couple views of the lake. And I saw a mommy duck and her three babies. So cute! And a teenage bunny that I didn't have time to get a picture of. Fun stuff! Along with the baby snake sighting the other day I am amassing quite the zoo :).

Back to Boomer

I walked all the way around the lake today, Boomer Lake. It is 5 kilometers and for those of you who don't know, I walked this lake A LOT when I lived in the US for a few months during my separation. Same walking sticks and Camel Pack, same parking space. No Kristen or Billy walking with me though :(. But Lori might come when our schedules allow :). And if not, I have my music. Not as good, but way better than the voices, most of them are way too bossy and whiny and need to be drowned out :).

So pretty :)

Well it was bound to happen, I know I was going to get stuck on the grocery side sooner or later. Last night I got aisle 5, the evil aisle, the aisle full of only canned goods. My arms feel like wet noodles and I think I think I threw a disc (getting old you know), but I did it. All finished before seven :).

Crayon necklace

Someone decided to tape and shrink wrap a square of crayons together. Not so smart with the tape. All the labels got ruined but I was able to hold up my string of crayons like I had just caught a bass or something :).

Confused

I liked this one cause it says Nordic Ware and Made in the USA on the same label. Along with a Viking and an American flag. Talk about weird.

Talk about a "Welcome back"!

This delightful little magazine was on my car when I left work this morning. Now I know I am home again! Stupid Christians.

Baby snake :)

This little guy was just chillin' like a villain on the sidewalk outside the apartment today. He was kinda cute :). And he didn't run away when I snuck up to take a picture.

Swedish stuff!

Just in case I get homesick, I have some Swedish stuff to fall back on. Fisherman's Friend throat drops and Swedish fish candy :).

My favorite shoes

These are my new absolute favorite shoes. They go perfect with my quirky, devil may care, funny t-shirt wearing self :). I had to add the glittery purple laces though, of course :).

Fourth of July, redneck style

Here we are watching the Fourth of July fireworks from the Wall's parking lot. Not really redneck style given the lack of beer and guns, but still, there was a pick up truck involved. A really good place for it without having to brave the crowd at the lake! And we watched them in true redneck style, sitting on the back of the pick up truck :). They were really pretty and I hate that my phone camera only got one pretty bad photo :(.

Eau de sweaty feet

It is good to know that my cats are not the only insane cats out there. My mom's cat Maggie has a sock slash shoe slash foot fetish. Here she is with her whole head down in my shoe, cuddling with the damn things! And her second favorite is when someone rubs her head with their feet, as long as they have socks on. Good to know she is just as weird and quirky as her Auntie Melinda!

Not just super sized!

I know that when we think of the US, it is mostly in terms of BIG. Everything is big, over sized and over the top. But there is also the unknown, smaller side. Like soda. Ever since my gastric bypass I can still drink soda, but not very much, even a can of Coke can be a challenge to finish. Here in the US, the land of super sized everything, I have found the cutest bottles of soda! Perfect for Melinda's tiny tummy! Here is one next to a super small cup, one used for coffee usually, even in Sweden, just to give you an idea of the size. 355 ml. So cute :).

Processed cheese food

It wouldn't be home without Velveeta. It makes Swedes shudder in their shoes, but I love me some neon orange processed cheese food with pasta :). They just don't know what they are missing!

Puppy sitting!

I got to babysit three cute puppies! It was a friend of Mom's at work and it was very fun :). And even the one that doesn't like anyone cuddled up to me after a bit, the brown one. The black one was just a plain old cuddle whore from the beginning! And the third one was an outside dog, so I didn't get to cuddle with that one too much :(. Another time maybe!
