Don't shake the picture!

I couldn't resist. I just couldn't. And it was not too expensive at all so I don't feel too bad. Cause its just too fun! It's a Polaroid camera! Remember those? Where the picture comes out and you wait and wait and wait? And no do overs! Well I got very nostalgic :). I think it will be fun to have actual pictures every now and again :). And not just a Polaroid effect on my smart phone! The film is a bit less cost efficient so I must remember to choose my moments. But other than that, watch out world!

Disturbing bathroom door

After seeing The Hobbit again yesterday with 8 fellow Tolkien dorks we went out for a few drinks to discuss the movie. And after a three hour movie I had to go! At which point I noticed the big medieval lock on the bathroom door. On the outside. Creepy. Very creepy.

Sleeping like a people

Came home from work today to see Bastet all hunkered down under the covers just like a person would be. Bit odd, she's never done that before, but then again she is as nutty as her owner, so anything could happen :).

Super fun present paper :)

Not only was the present super fun, so was the wrapping paper! Hello Kitty!!!! Yes, the one who makes me smile lots and lots already knows about the Hello Kitty fixation....I mean ummm....obsession?....fondness? Yes, we go with fondness, way less crazy that way ;).

smile lots and lots :). It's a lamp that lights up in all different colors!
With a remote! I've had so much fun playing with it, and I get to pick
whichever color makes me happiest that day :P.

Rug progress

I worked a bit on my rug this weekend. Managed to do two more times around. Not bad for my very first rag rug :).

The Hobbit!!!

As most of you know, I am part of a Tolkien Society called Angmar. And as most of you know, this week is the premiere of the Hobbit. Well, being a total nerd sometimes is so super cool! Angmar and Bree, the Copenhagen group, got the chance to go to the gala fancy big huge deal premiere of the film in Copenhagen. One condition was that we wore our very Tolkien finest. Which we did happily of course :). Very fun wrestling 7 meters of skirt circumference in the snow lol. It was kind of fun to be followed by film cameras and go in the fancy way where there were reporters taking pictures and filming. And two from Angmar got asked to talk on camera! I'm kinda glad it wasn't me :). My understanding of Danish is rather sub par. And then the actual movie. I'm going to see it again for sure, but especially since it's two more days till the rest of you see it, I will refrain from commenting in case of spoilers etc :).

Rubber kitty?

Cats amaze me sometimes. I woke up today and this was how Bastet was sleeping. I mean, how does she even get her legs to do that?!? And how can it possibly be comfortable?

Let there be sound!

After two years in this apartment I finally have sound! And thanks to Jens it is even surround sound :). And he came and connected everything. So nice! The only thing we couldn't figure was how to get the Blu Ray thing going with the speakers...I will read a bit in the instruction book....curse and throw things....eventually give up....and call Klas :).

Birdie surgery

One of my birds had some orange fuzz stuck on one of his claws. The real challenge was catching one bird out of 12...but finally I caught him! Now he is fuzz free :).

End of term dinner

Yesterday we had our traditional end of term dinner with the Kävlinge home language teachers. It was very nice and fun to see everyone. Because of what we do we actually only see each other a few times a year.

Fondue!

I was in in Stockholm again this weekend (yes, again visiting someone who makes me smile :D). Dinner on Saturday was super wonderful fondue fun!!! I've never had it before outside a restaurant. Only the one with cheese. This was so much better :). I got to help cut up things and even light the little pot on fire :). Best dinner ever!

Class visitor

Imagine my surprise when, during class, a little ladybug comes crawling across the table. He hung out for a little while then we put him in one of the plants to live for now :).

Snow :)

I am in Stockholm again this weekend and there is snow! :). It is so pretty with all the trees covered in snow. Next time we are so building a snowman! 

Plants are overrated

I was visiting someone (yes, the "makes me smile" kind of someone :D) in Stockholm this weekend and I wanted to bring a "Thanks for having me" present. Usually this is a plant, flowers, bottle of wine, or chocolates. But given previous conversations with this particular person, I decided to go with something a bit more unconventional and a bit less grown-up. Lego :). And we had fun putting it together :). I think it is a bear on the sign, but I maintain that it is an aardvark. It looks like an aardvark!

Pimped my headphones

I saw this on Pinterest and one of my students had it. So I decided to try it. I made a happy rainbow one. Of course :). My fingers kinda hurt and I wish I'd remembered my jewelry tools earlier....but still, very satisfied with the result. 

All official like

Today was the open house for our school. It was a pretty good turn out. And the students did great showing people around. I was happy to fit in with all the grown ups with my official LFTG shirt. Although after careful consideration,  orange is not my most flattering color :).

Plastic Animal Massacre

I saw a really cool idea for magnets on Pinterest. You take plastic animals, saw them in half, then put in some magnets, and viola! Super cool magnets for fridge :). I finally found cheap animals at Biltema (along with bestest ice scraper ever!). So I brought animals back to work before our open house to be slaughtered. Markus thought I was crazy. I will admit to being a tad bit excited. But I'm certainly not crazy. Pfft. Anyway, after one test animal by Tamas, Erika and I slaughtered the whole zoo :). I will put up pictures when I get the magnets on :).

Suck it winter shoe shopping!

Well the time has come. It's too cold for my beloved Converse. My winter shoes died last year. As in the bottom fell off. I guess that happens after a few years. But I hate winter shoe shopping. They're all just so...ugly! I want my Converse dammit. But I went out anyway with a totally shitty attitude to get me some boots. Four stores later I had found two jackets, three skirts, five sweaters, and a pair of pink Converse that I wanted. I resisted it all, don't worry. But in the fifth store after trying on 13!!! pairs of boots I found them :). They are black boots....but are they really? If you look close you can there is a black on black pattern of skulls and roses and leaves :). And of course I added the rainbow shoelaces myself :). It is me after all!

Cool elevator buttons

We stayed at a friend of Tuffe and Rolf in Stockholm. He lives very close to where the banquet was so it was very nice of him to let us stay over. In the elevator there were numbers and pictures on the buttons so kids could easily get to the right floor. So very cute :).

Along for the ride

I found my little clown in a box and decided he was going with me to Stockholm. He was my favorite when I was young. Apparently he is a type of collectible from back then. It was kind of cool to find that out :).

I'm smarter than the car!

We wanted to have some music for our road trip to Stockholm so I put some on my phone. Then we had to figure out how to play it....The wires didn't work so I tried the Bluetooth and it worked!!! After a few tries...but still!!!

Banquet time!

I got to go to Stockholm this weekend for Forodrim's November Banquet. It was very fun, the first time I have been to that one. I got to see Tuffe and Rolf who also went to the banquet. It is also fun that I am getting to know more people now, so I don't have to worry about having people to talk to :).

Snow White :)

I got to be Snow White this year for Halloween :). We had Halloween at Angmar and hopefully everyone had fun. I was in charge of making it fun, so of course I hope it was a success! There were snacks and a trivia quiz and prizes. I love Halloween :).

Take that, printer!

I got a cheap printer so I could have one at home. I always seem to need to print things at home. Anyway, I told the guy at the store I wanted easy simple nothing fancy printer. But when I went to install it there was a small problem. It had a CD and my computer didn't have that. Well craps. So after panic call to Jens I downloaded all kinds of crap from the home page. And I made it work! I solved an actual computer problem! I was so proud I had to share :).

I got my hair cut and dyed today. I am very happy with it! When my hair moves you can see the super red highlights. Me like :).

Winter tires!

Here in the land of polar bears and porn we have summer tires and winter tires. Today I switched mine but it was really my work friend and his little son. It was very cute watching him learn how to help! But I did get my hands dirty and helped a little :).

Margaritas!

My very first made on my own margaritas for Princess Bride movie night :). First batch not as good, weird blender, but the second strawberry batch? I liked :). Next up, strawberry daquaris!

My baby Sekhmet :). She is way cuddlier these days and loves to have her belly rubbed. It is so cute when they do the upside down head thing :).

Stupid Pinterest and their stupid inspiring cool ideas. Stupid stupid. Well, I am making a rug. And it is actually turning out to be quite fun :). It looked really cool and I thought, hey why not? So cool! And I get to make it with colors I like! I put up more photos as I go :).

Holy Best Vintage Deal Ever Batman!

I found this great vintage coat today. I liked it but figured it would be a few hundred crowns so no way could I get it. Nope! 200 crowns!!! I am embarrassed to say I grabbed it like a little kid at Christmas and ran. May have possibly growled at another lady nearby. She was eyeballing my coat! But it is mine! All mine! My precious!

Must recruit more geeks!

Today I was in my elvish best at the Science Fiction Bookstore handing out information about Angmar. It was the 75th jubilium of the Hobbit :). So of course there was a little party and cakes in true hobbit fashion :). And an elf :).

Presents!

I got presents at work today :). My colleague's daughter was a bit too young for this so I got it as present :). It works perfect on my backpack full of buttons and keychains and patches :). Plus I like how the package says "Really works!". There is even a little pencil in there, lol.
