Siri came to visit!

Siri has been living with Jimmie for a couple weeks now. She is very happy there and I am sure very very spoiled :)

After a couple weeks we decided it was time to arrange a kitty play date. So Siri was here for a few hours playing with Bastet and Sekhmet. It went really well I think and soon she will come over again! And she will be here for a few days in September as well when Jimmie goes to Berlin. Lots of kitties!!!

Grill time baby!

Tina, Andreas, Anders, Anders and I were outside in my backyard grilling on Monday night. We made kebabs out of different kinds of sausage, mushrooms, peppers, zucchini, and other fun stuff along with healthy no mayonnaise potato salad.

We got to be outside on blankets just like a real picnic :) And the kitties got to be outside and chase imaginary bugs and each other. And Tina built a fortress around Bastet with the grill sticks...Bastet was not amused :)

Potential Addition to the DeBoer Household :)

My friend Jeanette in Helsingborg has this cute cute cute little kitty now at her place. Her mom found her by the side of the road. Someone had abandoned her probably :( She is maybe four or five weeks old and was in kind of bad shape but is doing much better now with some medicine, food, and lots of attention.

My friend has a small zoo already so she is not sure if she can keep the kitty herself, maybe, it depends on the two puppies she has as well :) But I told her in a few weeks if the kitty needs a home she can probably come here :) I would call her Maftet after the third and final Egyptian cat goddess. This goddess has characteristics of a cheetah and small tufts on her ears just like a lynx has. So does this little kitty :) We shall see how it goes, whether or not she comes to live us later on...

Solskensbullar...?

Tina, Andreas and I were at ICA on Monday evening to pick up grill supplies and we saw these. For those of you that are not Swedish this might not make much sense but basically these bread things are Christmas time only types of bread here. They are called lussekatter. Here they are called solskensbullar, Sunshine buns.

Anyway, it was really really weird to see them in the middle of July. And that they were renamed to fit in to the whole summer thing. It was funny all around :)

Cupcakes baby!

Kristen came over and we made yummy chocolate cupcakes with yummy
chocolate frosting. All from scratch! No mixes no cheating. Am so
proud :). We also watched Twilight and I must admit I am intrigued by
this movie enough to read the books. Well listen to the first one
since Kristen brought me the CDs today as well to put on my iPod :).
Will update further later...in the meantime feel free to be jealous of
my cupcakes!

Credit Cards

Well today I was at the welfare office and that was an experience. A
good one. I now have to take control of my life. Weight and spending
are things I have never taken control of. I never had to until now
really. There was always a way to get more money and spend more money
on more things and lately it has been borrowing money to make
payments on the money i borrowed before! Spending is very much no
longer an option. Borrowing money to pay bills and buy more stuff was
ok maybe (and that is a big maybe) when I had my extra job but even
then I spent too much money. In typical fashion for a compulsive
personality I just kept buying things hoping I would feel better. I
never did. Not for very long anyway. Just like eating never makes me
feel better for very long. So now when I make a payment I won't be
able to spend the money again right away. And hopefully since I am now
unable to shop I will spend more time at the gym. Let's hope so anyway!

Nice Day

Today was at the welfare office. Super fun. And now I am sitting in
the sun waiting for Kristen so we can have a fika :)

Papa Swan Not Amused

Papa Swan does not like when people get close to his babies or Mama
Swan.

Babies!

Jens, Jonas, Helena and I are at Söderåsens National Park. We had a
lovely picnic (thank you Jonas and Helena!). Then the other three went
for a walk while I guaurded the picnic cause my knee still hurt. The
weather was perfect!

99 Luftballong

Jens and I were driving to his place and saw a hot air balloon (The
one already in the air). Then we came to the intersection and there
was a balloon going up in the little park out here by Vildanden! So
we had to stop and I got a picture with both :).
And I resisted the urge to shout "don't do it!" to the people climbing
in the basket. I was very duktig :)

Best Orchids Ever!

Well here are my orchids, and might I say, they kick some serious ass! Not only are they blooming full out in summer but it is the second time for the purple one, and the third time for the white one. And did you see the white one? Huge span! Three blooming branches and two more starting to bud. I am so freakin' proud of my little babies :) And two of my other orchids are growing out the stems into some bud sections. One is the big one so we will hopefully see another batch of huge flowers on that one, and it bloomed last this winter, so this is the sixth time for it, but I will put pictures up when it happens :)
















YES! All the white flowers are from the one plant! I know!

Enjoying the evening

Spending the warm evening outside with the kitties. Am using the super
comfy quilt Auntie Sue made :). Books and kitties. It doesn't get much
better does it?

And muffins!

Visiting kitty Siri is fun cause I got muffins too :)

Visit to Temporary Kitty :)

I went to visit the kitty that I got for my friend today :). Her name
is Siri and she seems to really like her new home. And she got a
pretty blue collar to wear and get used to. And she is getting so big!
