decided to take matters into her own hands. She pulled a MacGeyver and
fashioned a lid out of the napkin did some serious shaking and
negotiating with the evil bottle and presto! Ketchup! On my
platetoo! Not on me or herself or the diners next to us or even the
pigeon wandering around between the chairs, which would have been the
case had I taken charge in such a fashion :).

Why didn't you just used the knife to put it in and get some ketchup? Then the bubble would also be burst and the rest would come along just nicely. Or isn't that sporty enough? ;)
