Today me and the zoo moved back home. It was quite nice. But there is
a bit of work to do because the painter was here. So now it is time to
clean and put furniture back and organize stuff. Anyone want to trade?
Anyone? No takers?

Little chicken :)
Susanne was over visiting today and she met my little chicken :). Well
he's a finch but I just call him my little chicken :). He had a nice
nap in her hands and seemed to like her a lot. I got a cute picture of
just his head poking out :).

Last call!
For shots anyway :). I took the last of my blood thinning shots today
and it was wonderful (not the actual shot of course, just the feeling
of it being the last one). Ten in all and I gave myself nine of them.
One I made the nurse at the hospital do. I never ever thought I would
be able to stab myself with a needle but after a scary speech about
blood clots and possible death I found that I could do it after all!

New job, new savings
Well in the fall I will finally be working 100%. I am so looking
forward to it. I will be both at the high school where I have been
teaching and in two different counties as a native language teacher.
So with my new pay check comes new responsibilities. This summer I am
determined to get my economy in good order and set it up so that I can
pay off my loans faster, build up a savings account, save for a road
trip back home next summer (fly to US and then road trip, not road
trip all the way to US), decorate my apartment, and save up for new
clothes.
Wish me luck!!!

So cute!
I just had to include this one too. Jens and I found it on the side of
the road in Hjärup. It's a clip for plastic bags and so on. They are
quite common here so that wasn't anything special, but this one was so
small and cute! I wonder where I can buy them...

Soon no more ugly clothes!!!
I was out for a bit of shopping today with Erika and I couldn't help
but see my favorite pet peeve in a new light.
First I can explain the pet peeve. Ever since I moved to Sweden I have
absolutely hated buying clothes. Clothes for people my size are not
pretty. For some reason the people who design clothes for fat people
here are convinced that we want to cover ourselves in sparkly sequins
and horrific patterns. That's it guys, draw as much attention as
possible to the fat freaks. Why is this? Most of us chunky butts just
want clothes that look like regular clothes. A pair of jeans that is
just a pair of jeans. No sequins or obnoxious embroidery. Just plain
old fashioned jeans with an extra bit of wiggle room please. And we
are not all 80 years old!!! Older people might appreciate some if
these clothes (but I doubt it) however, I am 29, not 79. I don't need
to look like I am wearing a shower curtain or attending a funeral in
the 80's!
But today in a store, while looking at this year's summer offerings, I
realized that because of my operation I will soon be able to shop in
the regular people section. Where the regular, pretty clothes are. Now
that the operation is done, weight loss on a large scale is
inevitable. I could not resist doing a (slighty limited cause of the
operation of course) happy dance there in the store :). Then I started
looking at all the clothes I might be able to have one day! It was so
much fun ;).

Who's a big boy?
Or girl :). Not sure yet. Anyway, my little pippi is standing up all
by himself! And he is even hopping around and trying to flap his
wings just a little. And he grabs onto my fingers and hand and tries
to perch. I am so happy that he has made it this far!!! And he doesn't
stay in his little dish anymore either. You can see in the second
picture that he escaped the dish and was trying to explore. Of course
he couldn't get very far because he is in a box, but it is the effort
that counts! And he is really starting to look like a little birdie.
So different from when he was born a tiny pink blob :).
