Phase 2 completed! Seams covered! Thank you so much TGR store for having the purple velvet ribbon. It was really hard to find purple anywhere, including the big sewing fabric store. I thought I was going to have to wait for trip to US to find it. This was total wonderful accident :). Now for the bead fringe!
Bastet and Polo are at least friends enough to sleep butt to butt every now and again :).
I was at Erika's today and pet all the pretty kitties :). Was very very bad :).
Polo was all kind of of stretched out for her nap. Gizmo was still sceptical about the bright light. Little gremlin.
I finished the fabric part of my lamps today! It was a bit of a challenge cause I misjudged the fabric pieces a couple of times, but it worked out in the end. I am quite proud so far. So now I have to cover the seams and add the fringe. I haven't found a good trim to cover the seams yet, but I plan to look when I get to Stockholm :).
I started a new project this week. I have had these lamp shades for forever but I haven't had any lamp bases for them. I found some at IKEA so now I can redo the shades! So I ripped everything off and started with the new fabric. It was quite a bit of work, but will be totally worth it! I also ordered a beaded fringe, which I have never used before. I wanted to try a quasi-Victorian look :).
I broke down and bought the real ones today at the animal hospital store. They work much better and I feel like they can be in them longer. Especially since these were made for...ummm...use of certain bits....bathroom wise. It worked quite well I think for taking off the cones whenever I am home. They do have to wear them for two weeks and this must be more comfy than the cone of shame. We see how it goes, but so far they seem to like them! Mama Cat was sceptical. Polo got stuck. But we are all good now :).
Polo wanted to play in the water, cone or no cone. No flooding, but she did get water everywhere of course :).
Gizmo really is a gremlin :). I turned on the lamp and she looked scared shitless lol. She is the only one cuddling with Mama Cat though :(. Polo hisses at her now :(. But I think it's cause they both have cones.
Both of them are totally ignoring critter doctor's advice and jumping up on the kitty tree. Not sure how to stop them really.
Poor Gizmo is the only one without a cone :(. But she cuddles with Mama Cat anyway :). Unlike Polo who has taken to hissing at poor Mama Cat!
Polo had just started playing in the sink and drinking the running water when she got her surgery. Now that she has the cone, this is probably not a recommended activity....
When I left Stockholm on Sunday there was a band playing on the platform. I have no idea how they knew I was leaving just then, but I feel I was totally worth it :). In fact, I should always have a band following me around. I am that awesome :P.
All the kitties were snuggle mode today :). The only one missing was Mama Cat. She was off at the vet getting her bits removed :(. Polo is way more cuddly now in her cone though!
Polo got a break from her cone today too. Back in the onesy and licking like crazy. And watching House at the same time. Multi-tasker.
Today it was Mama Cat's turn to get fixed. So now we have two cones of shame bumping around the house :).
Got this idea from a friend on Facebook. Her cat hated the cone so she put her in a onesy so she could be free but still not lick her belly. Polo liked getting a cone break and licked everything she could reach :). But I will only do this when I am at home to watch her. Am worried she will escape, she is pretty feisty!
Polo has discovered that the cone acts as a support for nap times as well. I guess it's not all bad.
It can't possibly be comfy. Newly operated and decorated with a stylish cone, this is now Polo's favorite position to look cute in. And plead with her puppy eyes to please take off the cone!
It was time to get Polo fixed so she got her very first cone of shame today :(. But she did very good and I had to put her collar on instead of the gauze cause she kept escaping! Am keeping her separate now so the others don't lick her stitches. I feel very mean :(.
I got my horse people whatever shampoo finally! In Sweden! Had to find it on the Interweb but it worked. I loved this shampoo at home. My hair was so nice when I used it. Especially when I was swimmimg. Yay for getting nice hair back!
Not for me but for Boyfriend. Two of his all time favorite goodies piled up directly inside the grocery store doors. Poor Boyfriend :(. But he resisted! His willpower is much better than mine.
We had taco night with friends. It was very very good :). We made the taco salad shells with the fancy "As seen on TV" shell maker things.
Polo and Gizmo are not very cuddly at the moment. But they have thier moments. Especially when Boyfriend is here. Not sure how I should take that...
